What is the Mext Japanese Government Scholarship?
MEXT is the short form of a ministry in the Government of JAPAN Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology. It has been provided since 1954 by the Japanese Government.

How much does it cost to apply?
There is no application fee, and you’ll be reimbursed for travel expenses if you are successful in receiving a grant. To apply, follow Mext Japan’s official website.
Furthermore, All public universities in Japan are eligible to apply for a grant. so, Successful applicants must be non-Japanese and enrolled as undergraduate or graduate students (including those studying part-time) at a university with faculties of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
They must also demonstrate financial need. Undergraduate students will receive $6,800 USD per year while graduate students will receive $10,000 USD per year. However, these grants may be used for fees associated with study-abroad placements in Japan.
For example, if you were to spend a semester on exchange in Japan during your degree, you could use your grant towards that tuition fee. so, Grants are awarded based on academic merit only and cannot be deferred. Students must have sufficient English language skills to complete their studies in Japan.

Where will you apply for the Mext Japanese government scholarship 2023-2024
There are two ways.
1. Directly from the Japanese Embassy or Consulate of your country.
2. You can ask your university (taking admission) to apply on your behalf.
